Japanese Inspired Cabbage Salad Recipe

Serves 1 as meal or 2 as a side dish


Ingredients


  • 1 cup of green cabbage, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup of red cabbage, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 green onion, chopped

  • Toasted black sesame seeds

  • 1 radish thinly sliced



Dressing


  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

  • 1 tablespoon of sushi seasoning (or rice vinegar)

  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice

  • Toasted sesame oil (optional)


Instructions


  1. Prepare Vegetables: Combine green and red cabbage, red bell pepper, green onion in a large bowl.


  2. Make Dressing: Whisk together soy sauce, sushi seasoning (I use Obento Japanese Seasoning Sushi 250ml), lime juice, and toasted sesame oil in a small bowl.


  3. Toss and Serve: Pour the dressing over the salad, toss well, and garnish with toasted black sesame seeds. Serve immediately or refrigerate to allow the flavours to develop.
